Ultrasound features of deep-seated lipomas

摘要: The objective of this study was to describe the sonographic features deep-seated lipomas. A retrospective review 64 deep seated lipomas in patients (43 females, 21 males, mean age 46.5, range 16–77 years) seen over an 8-year period (1998–2006) undertaken. Features evaluated were location, size, shape, marginal definition, internal echogenicity, including presence intermingled muscle fibres and linear echoes, acoustic transmission vascularity. Confirmation histological 37 (58%) cases by typical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) appearance 27 (42%) cases. results show that although lipoma are more variable than those reported for subcutaneous lipomas, thin echoes conjunction with other less specific should enable a correct diagnosis.
