摘要: We have isolated a small, heat stabile, hydrophilic molecule from the gut lumen of unfed, female Anopheles stephensi that is potent inducer gametogenesis in Plasmodium falciparum and P. gallinaceum at hydrogen ion concentration, pH 7.4, normally suppresses activation. This gamete activation factor (GAF) was purified using reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography determined to major m/z 206.1 by low resolution electrospray mass spectrometry. The molecule, which also found heads both male A. stephensi, absorbed light ultraviolet region three maxima (lambda(max) = 213, 245 350 nm); 245/350 nm absorbance ratio 7.0. structure its normal function mosquito are not yet known, but sample diverse insect species, extracts those feed on blood were bioactive. propose GAF previously observed malaria exflagellation (MEF).
