摘要: Abstract Background/Purpose In Egypt, there is a scarcity of data concerning Naegleria (N.) family, with shortage phylogenetic studies. This study's aim was molecular detection, sequencing and analysis morphologically identified Nagleria to determine natural seasonal distribution species in water sources Greater Cairo, Egypt. Methods A total 120 samples were collected during each season over year. Every sample filtrated cultured on non-nutrient agar (NNA). Morphologically positive Nagleria-like isolates subjected genus species-specific PCR targeting rDNA gene, products sequenced obtained sequences analyzed. Results: Nile River the only source found contained Naegleria. For first time Vahlkampfia ciguana N.australiensis, N.philippinensis N.neojejuensis from water. The pathogenic fowleri, previously reported however not detected this study. Conclusion Interestingly, no variations prevalence spp.; yet, diversity same site. These newly discovered Vahlkampfiidae Egyptian aquatic environments indicate need for further investigations using bigger sizes order their potential risk human health.
