摘要: California frequently experiences water scarcity, especially in high population areas. This has generated increased interest using the Pacific Ocean as a resource, with seawater desalination becoming popular solution. To mitigate environmental impacts of salinity brine from desalination, recommends commingling wastewater effluent before ocean discharge. Results reveal that throughout coast, approximately 4872 MLD (1287 MGD) treated are discharged into and might be available dilution water. Most this resource is produced Southern (3161 or 835 San Francisco Bay Area (1503 397 MGD), which also areas highest need for alternative sources. With quantity water, principle, over 5300 (1400 potable could through desalination. Furthermore, study provides survey treatment levels typical discharge violations facilities California.
