摘要: Abstract The Neolithic is a key topic in the study of Old World prehistory but how defined varies between regions. In East Asia invention pottery often seen as marking start Neolithic. contrast to this ‘eastern’ perspective, western parts Eurasia it presence agriculture that usually defines onset way life. This paper adopts comparative examining origins and development pottery, sedentary life Southwest Asia. We suggest perspective indicates some most enduring themes studies need be reconsidered, namely: (1) idea package consisting number associated traits (including, among other things, agriculture, sites, pottery) developed spread together, (2) notion revolutionary event sharp break from preceding Palaeolithic period, (3) impact on later periods.
