摘要: Abstract The aim of the present paper was to see if L- erythro -α, β-dihydroxybutyraldehyde (DHBA) which interacts with intracellular cysteine, may act as a radiosensitizing compound on bacteria and tumour cells. A test radiosensitivity carried out conventional procedures E.coli B indicated that DHBA enhances effect radiation both in non-toxic toxic conditions, giving respectively DMF 1·3 1·7 . In vitro/in vivo experiments, adenocarcinoma Ehrlich ascites cells, have shown displays marked action at doses ( 1 or 5 mM), when irradiation is air well nitrogen. combined X-rays leads slow-down growth increased survival animals and, convenient doses, brings about dramatic decrease number cells from ascitic fluid their total disappearance confirmed by lack all animals. must be during radiation. addition aldehyde irradiated appeared without cytokynetics growth. Immunological processes play negligible role under our experimental conditions. results are discussed.
