摘要: Assessment in traditional courses has been limited to either instructor grading, or problems that lend themselves well relatively simple automation, such as multiple-choice bubble exams. Progress educational technology, combined with economies of scale, allows us radically increase both the depth and accuracy our measurements what students learn. Increasingly, we can give rapid, individualized feedback for a wide range problems, including engineering design free-form text answers, provide rich analytics be used improve teaching learning. Data science integration data from disparate sources increasingly inexpensive accurate micro-assessments, those open-ended textual responses, estimation higher-level skills lead long-term student success.
