摘要: This follow-up cross-sectional study aimed to analyze the prevalence rate and risk factors related latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) active (TB) in children aged < 15 years contact with adults smear-positive pulmonary TB (PTB) a Brazilian municipality. Data were collected from interviews, clinical evaluations, chest X-rays, tuberculin skin tests, interferon gamma release assays. The median time elapsed between diagnosis of index case (IC) inclusion was 2.5 (interquartile range [IQR] = 1.5-4.4) 7.4 (IQR 3.8-9.7) when we reassessed development (or not) TB. age at exposure IC 6.6 3.3-9.4) 14.1 8.9-17.7) last follow-up. Of 99 adolescents PTB, 21.2% (95% CI 14.0-29.9) diagnosed LTBI, none developed There no statistically significant difference LTBI non-LTBI groups regarding demographic, socioeconomic, epidemiological characteristics. Unlike national international scenarios, found lower frequency among our studied patients. For better understanding these findings, further studies might add, other factors, host Mycobacterium genetic features.
