摘要: Abstract Tuberculosis (TB) infection was evaluated in Brazilian immunocompetent children and adolescents exposed unexposed (control group) to adults with active pulmonary TB. Both groups were analysed by clinical radiological assessment, TST, QFT-IT T-SPOT.TB. The three tests repeated after 8 weeks the TB-exposed group if results initially negative. Individuals latent tuberculosis (LTBI) treated treatment. Fifty-nine 42 controls evaluated. Rate of 69·5% 9·5% for control groups, respectively. rate 61% assessed 57·6% T-SPOT.TB, 59·3%, QFT-IT. No TB diagnosed. Agreement between 83·1% 92·8% In group, T-SPOT.TB added four diagnoses [16%, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1·6-30·4] (12%, CI 0-24·7) 25 individuals negative tuberculin skin test (TST). Risk factors associated contact an adult [0-60 days: odds ratio (OR) 6·9; >60 OR 27·0] sleeping same room as (OR 5·2). adolescents, TST had a similar performance interferon-gamma release assays detected high LTBI.
