摘要: The effect of recirculating engine-out gases into the intake manifold on cold start direct-injection diesel engines is investigated. Two types recirculation are examined. first low-pressure where their rate controlled by a gas (GR) valve installed between exhaust and manifold. second high-pressure restricting flow using butterfly (BF) valve, in system after turbocharger to increase back pressure recirculated gases. Since there no combustion during cranking, these contain evaporated hydrocarbons partial oxidation products, mostly formaldehyde (HCHO).
