摘要: Type I strains of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) use a type IV secretion system (T4SS), encoded by the cag pathogenicity island (cag-PAI), to deliver bacterial protein CagA into eukaryotic cells and induce interleukin-8 secretion. Translocated is activated tyrosine phosphorylation involving Src-family kinases. The mechanism structural basis for not well understood. We describe here, confocal laser scanning microscopy field emission electron microscopy, novel filamentous surface organelle which part Hp T4SS. often located at one pole but can be induced cell contact also along lateral side bacteria. It consists rigid needle, covered focally or completely HP0527 (Cag7 CagY), VirB10-homologous protein. clustered in outer membrane. VirB7-homologous HP0532 found base this organelle. These observations demonstrate first time microscopic techniques complex T4SS-associated, sheathed reminiscent needle structures III systems.
