摘要: Primary aluminium production is a highly energy-intensive and greenhouse gas (GHG)-emitting process responsible for about 1 % of global GHG emissions. In 2009, the two most processes in primary production, alumina refining smelting consumed 3.1 EJ, which 2 EJ was electricity smelting, 8 use industrial sector. The demand expected to increase significantly over next decades, continuing upward trend energy GHGs. wide implementation efficiency measures can cut down emissions assist transition towards more sustainable industry. this study, 22 currently available are assessed, cost-supply curves constructed determine technical cost-effective savings potentials. all estimated reduce 2050 by 31 9 (excluding refining) when compared “frozen efficiency” scenario. When “business-as-usual” (BAU) scenario, identified potentials lower, 12 0.9 refining), respectively. Currently technologies have potential while case if no new become future, will be limited.
