Nanosecond Laser Irradiation as New Route for Silver Nanoparticles Precipitation in Glassy Matrix

摘要: Soda lime borate glasses doped with silver nitrate were prepared using melt annealing technique. Glass samples then irradiated a nanosecond (Nd:YAG laser) which emits 1064 nm, 8 nspulse duration and 10 Hz repetition rate through focusing lens. Ultraviolet/Visible (UV/Vis.) Optical absorption spectra show appearance of peak due Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) precipitated nanoparticles (AgNPs). Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) the sample small variation in intensity for before after laser irradiation combined new band attributed to AgNPs. X-ray diffraction reveals sharp peaksafter 111 200 planes metallic nano-silver. Size distribution observed nano-silver was calculated Debye Scherrer formula confirmed transmission electron microscope (TEM).
