摘要: Background: The utility of circulating angiogenic cytokines (CAC) as biomarkers in pancreatic cancer has not been clarified yet. We investigated the expression and prognostic associations seven CAC patients with cancer. Methods: Serum samples were collected preoperatively undergoing surgery for localized (n = 74), metastatic 24) or chronic pancreatitis 20) healthy controls 48). Quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays multiplex protein arrays used to determine levels VEGF, VEGFR-1, PlGF, PDGF-AA, PDGF-BB, Ang-1 EGF. Multivariate analyses on cancerspecific survival performed a Cox proportional hazards model. Results: VEGF (p < 0.0001), PDGF-AA 0.002) EGF 0.0001) differentially expressed compared controls. presence lymph node metastases was associated increased all except whereas there only minor other clinicopathologic variables. multivariate model including entire panel revealed high (hazard ratio 4.58; 95% confidence interval 1.43 - 14.69) predictor poor cancer-specific survival, PDGF-BB (0.15; 0.15 0.88), (0.30; 0.10 0.93) (0.24; 0.09 0.57) favorable prognosis. Conclusion: Circulating certain correlate patients’ prognosis after resection cancer, if several is considered simultaneously. These data should be future studies evaluating factors therapeutic targets Background Pancreatic ranked within ten most common malignancies both genders, yet it responsible one forth cancer-related deaths Western countries [1]. this disease reflected by dismal overall 5-year rate less than 5%.
