摘要: Glycerol has been proposed as a substitute osmotic agent for glucose in peritoneal dialysis fluids. We have compared the effect of glycerol and on function human mesothelial cells (HPMC) vitro. The viability HPMC was not affected by (up to 250 mM), whereas it reduced time- dose-dependent manner, assessed LDH release. Although incubation with induced decrease proliferation, significantly less inhibitory than that produced glucose. In treated 90 mM or incorporation [3H]-thymidine had reached 79.0 +/- 19.3% 55.3 4.0% control (p < 0.05 p 0.01), respectively. As measured [methyl-14C]-choline incorporation, intracellular amount newly synthesized phospholipids from (cpm/microgram cellular protein) 147 58 59 15 exposed but (163 65). On other hand, both (90 mM) decreased synthesis proteins (as [3H]-proline incorporation) interfered potassium (86Rb) transport mechanisms HPMC. Our data suggest there exist some possibly advantageous aspects far cell biocompatibility profile is concerned.
