摘要: Animal models of epilepsy are critical not only for understanding the fundamental mechanism but also testing efficacy new antiepileptic drugs and novel therapeutic interventions. Photorelease caged molecules is widely used in biological research to control pharmacologic events with high spatio-temporal resolution. We developed a technique vivo optical triggering neocortical seizures using compound based on ruthenium photochemistry (RuBi-4AP). Epileptiform mouse cortex were induced blue light both whole brain focal illumination. Multi-electrode array recording techniques characterize propagation these epileptic events, including interictal spikes, polyspikes, ictal discharges. These results demonstrate optically-triggered seizure model, control, that could have widespread application investigation onset, develop light-based
