Synthesis, spectral, X-ray diffraction, antimicrobial studies, and DNA binding properties of binary and ternary complexes of pentadentate N2O3 carbohydrazone ligands

摘要: Two pentadentate carbohydrazone ligands, H2L1 and H2L2, were prepared by the reaction of bifunctional compound carbohydrazide with 2-hydroxy-5-nitrobenzaldehyde 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde, respectively. Reactions ligands oxovanadium(IV), cerium(III), thorium(IV), dioxouranium(VI) ions yielded binary complexes. ion in presence secondary (8-hydroxyquinoline, glycine, salicylaldehyde, or benzoylacetone) ternary The metal complexes characterized different techniques such as elemental thermal analyses, IR, 1H 13C NMR, electronic, ESR, mass spectra, powder XRD well magnetic susceptibility conductivity measurements. coordinating sites are phenolic oxygen, azomethine nitrogen, carbonyl oxygen. In complexes, act dibasic except obtained using glycine benzoylacetone, which monobasic pentadentate. patterns for ligand, its complex, 8-hydroxyquinoline complex indicate crystalline nature grain size was estimated. ligand have triclinic systems while has a monoclinic system unit-cell parameters. some their showed antimicrobial activity toward Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria, yeast (Candida albicans), fungus (Aspergillus fumigatus), MIC values determined. DNA binding properties oxovanadium(IV) H2L2 investigated electronic absorption spectroscopy viscosity results indicated that these bind to via an intercalation mode intrinsic constant K b 2.55 × 104 3 × 104 M−1,
