摘要: Two patients with severe secretory diarrhea due to metastatic vasoactive intestinal peptidoma were treated a synthetic somatostatin analogue in an attempt control the patients' peptide-related symptoms. In both patients, good initial response this treatment could be demonstrated; not only did subside but there was also dramatic fall peptide plasma levels. However, after 11 and 4 days respectively, recurred accompanied by rise fact, under natural somatostatin, significant rebound state observed regarding as well levels, which caused considerable difficulty clinical management 1 patient. This patient had undergo surgery. second patient, responsiveness returned few discontinuation of treatment, lasting, however, for short period only. The possible mechanism escape is discussed.
