摘要: Increasing evidence suggests that thiazolidinediones (TZDs) could have a therapeutic potential for patients with cancers. Here, the on mechanisms by which TZDs contribute to different steps of cancer biology in digestive system is summarized. According studies, induce anti-cancer actions through 3 main pathways: (1) cell growth arrest, (2) induction apoptosis, and (3) inhibition invasion. Cell arrest induced an increased level p27(Kip1). p27(Kip1) accumulation results from ubiquitin-proteasome and/or MEK-ERK signaling. apoptosis levels apoptotic molecules, such as p53 PTEN decreased anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 survivin. Inhibition signaling-mediated up-regulation E-cadherin claudin-4, expression matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) MMP-2 MMP-9, play role TZD-induced Thus, are capable inducing anti-tumor action variety ways gastrointestinal
