Surface plasmon enhancement of an optical anisotropy in porous silicon/metal composite

摘要: We report on the theoretical results obtained by applying modified effective medium theory to a composite material consisting of mesoporous Si (110)-oriented substrate with pores filled silver through, e.g., electroplating process. The developed permits self-consistent determination dielectric permittivity tensor such materials. It is shown that optical anisotropy can be greatly enhanced at some wavelength ranges. While this generally uniaxial as in non-metal-filled etched (110) substrate, “sign” (i.e., positive or negative) changes portions spectrum. optimum parameters for an experimental observation theoretically predicted effects are determined.
