摘要: This work aimed to investigate the spatial and temporal distribution of Stygarctus bradypus Schulz, 1951 (Tardigrada, Heterotardigrada) in a sandy beach southern edge Itamaraca Island, 40 km north far from Recife (PE, Brazil). Samples were taken two different periods year characterized by dryness rain, along coastal transects through intertidal zone, during low tides. One identified 337 specimens bradypus. There was significant difference between populations S. steps beach, but not sedimentary layers year. It concluded that this species does have its influenced sediments granulometry nor for presence interstitial water, preferentially colonizing upper mid-littoral studied concentrating population 10 cm 20 depth throughout whole
