摘要: Filamentation in an argon plasma is studied using a microwave cavity at atmospheric pressure. We show that the size and gas temperature of filaments increase with power absorbed by plasma. The appearance additional filament occurs specific values power. Each new appears smaller diameter than its parent but sum diameters all evolves linearly A secondary emerges from set microfilaments created perturbation electric field (a slight incident above threshold value). This over larger radius filament. By resorting to modeling, we found filamentation process involves either decrease effective frequency for momentum-transfer collisions, i.e., lower electron temperature, or density. could small change relative positions occupied two requires strong variation temperature.
