摘要: SUMMARY. Phagocytosis of particulate fibrin has been previously established as a function the reticuloendothelial system (RES). More recently, cells have shown to bind soluble fibrin/fibrinogen (f/F) complexes in vitro. To quantitate RES clearance us microthrombus formation, varying doses (0.1-6 mg/kg) 125I-soluble f/F was injected into rabbits. One hour later animals were killed, at which time 48 $pM 8% 125I had cleared from blood. Homogenized organ samples separated insoluble pellet, protein bound, and free 125I. Treatment other with plasmin prior homogenization differentiated (intracellular-plasmin resistant) vs microthrombi (plasmin sensitive pellet 125I). 125I-f/F chiefly found liver spleen. Injection low concentrations resulted no 3 mg/kg caused small, variable amounts 125I, kidney. With 6 mg/kg, 21-50% all organs sensitive, occasional 1–2 mm thrombi found. The data indicate complete rapid small blood, without being formed. acutely saturated 1.5–3.0 mg f/F/kg, is equivalent immediate conversion 1–2% intravascular fibrinogen pool.
