摘要: Patients with intravenous drug use (IVDU) and patients human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) painful joint arthrosis present a difficult treatment decision. The purpose of this study was to determine the rate deep periprosthetic infection in HIV or IVDU after total arthroplasty (TJA). Twenty-nine history both underwent TJA. Of 28 HIV-positive undergoing TJA, 4 (14%) developed infections. Two 8 joints (25%) group an infection. 5 (40%) are more likely develop compared other decision proceed TJA should be made only weighing ratio risks benefits.
