摘要: 26 consecutive patients (37 hips) with avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head treated surgically at our institution from 1999 to 2008 were reviewed. The aims study evaluate risk factors associated AVN in HIV positive and negative individuals, assess early response total hip replacement (THR) surgery patients. There 15 male 11 female total. mean age for all was 47.1± 8.0 years (range, 33 66 years). 12 positive, 3 had unknown status. Excessive alcohol intake most common factor developing .15 (58%) more than one only 2/12 (17%) no other apart infection. postoperative complications 34 arthroplasties both aetiology seems often be multifactorial, even presence Early arthroplasty is equally good irrespective serostatus
