P6 Acupressure Reduces Morning Sickness

摘要: A prospective study was designed to test the efficacy of pressure at P6 (Neiguan) acupuncture point, in preventing morning sickness. Three groups patients early pregnancy recorded severity and frequency sickness over a period 4 consecutive days following daily point near right elbow with no treatment. Troublesome significantly less both genuine (23/119) dummy (41/112) as compared control series (67/119). When data are adversely 'weighted' compensate for lower incidence fully completed returns active treatment groups, only group show significant reduction No side effects occurred either while anticipation benefit may offer partial explanation findings, Neiguan appears have specific therapeutic effect.
