摘要: Abstract Phage, in which 60% or more of the DNA-thymidine was replaced with 5-iodo-2'-deoxyuridine (IUdR), were evaluated for their ability to induce phage-specific enzymes Escherichia coli cultured a medium not containing IUdR. The IUdR-substituted phage unable normal levels activity 5'-deoxycytidylate hydroxymethylase and lysozyme. Further, appearance these enzymic activities delayed relative that observed phage. Dihydrofolate reductase followed similar pattern. Other experiments showed effects caused by either poor adsorption faulty injection DNA. In addition, fluorescent lighting conditions laboratory did affect induced
