摘要: Monoterpenes such as perillyl alcohol have been shown to cause the complete regression of advanced mammary carcinomas. Given common origin plant monoterpenes and many important molecules in mammalian mevalonate metabolism pathway, we investigated effects monoterpene on metabolism. NIH3T3 cells were labeled with [14C]mevalonolactone lipids analyzed. Perillyl inhibited ubiquinone synthesis blocked conversion lathosterol cholesterol. These two cellular may contribute antitumor activity monoterpenes.
