摘要: White matter (WM) abnormalities have long been suspected in major depressive disorder (MDD). Tract-based spatial statistics (TBSS) studies detected fractional anisotropy (FA) MDD, but the available evidence has inconsistent. We performed a quantitative meta-analysis of TBSS contrasting MDD patients with healthy control subjects (HCS). A total 17 18 datasets that included 641 and 581 HCS were identified. Anisotropic effect size-signed differential mapping (AES-SDM) was to assess FA alterations compared HCS. reductions identified genu corpus callosum (CC) extending body CC left anterior limb internal capsule (ALIC) relative Descriptive analysis quartiles, sensitivity subgroup further confirmed these findings. Meta-regression revealed individuals more severe significantly likely CC. This study provides thorough profile WM interhemispheric connections frontal-striatal-thalamic pathways are most convergent circuits affected MDD.
