摘要: Abstract Background The aim of this study was to determine the functional and radiological results treatment periprosthetic femoral fractures. Materials methods A review performed all femur fractures after a total hip arthroplasty (THA) or hemiarthroplasty (HA) treated at our institution from 1995 2011. Functional outcome assessed in terms Harris Hip Score ambulatory status. Radiological findings were classified using Beals Tower's criteria. Results 59 identified 58 patients. mean age patients 79 years old follow-up time 33.6 months. Local risk factors 71% patients, principally osteoporosis (59%), followed by osteolysis (24%) loosening stem (19%). In multivariable analysis, presence local associated with worsening patients’ According Vancouver classification, there 8 type A, 46 B 5 C Of 24 B1, 14 B2 B3. Fracture union achieved 54 fractures, 6 Applying criteria, excellent 20 (34%), good 22 (37%), poor 17 (29%). None improved their ability walk these 31 (52%) did not regain prefracture walking postoperatively 67.9. There major minor complications 33 (56%) 11 (19%) required further operations. Conclusion Although shows following accordance marked deterioration many high rate complications. poorer
