摘要: The Yusho incident is an unprecedented mass food poisoning that occurred in Japan 1968. It was caused by the ingestion of rice bran oil contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and various dioxins dioxin-like compounds, such as dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) dibenzofurans (PCDFs). victims have suffered from characteristic skin manifestations associated systemic, ophthalmological, mucosal symptoms for a long period time. Study Group (the Group) has been conducting annual medical check-ups on more than 45years. Since 2002, when concentrations blood patients started to be measured, pharmacokinetics dioxins, relationship between levels symptoms/signs directly exposed adverse effects next generation become dramatically clear. Herein we review recent findings studies conducted evaluate chronic dioxin-induced toxicity well comparison similar poisoning, Yucheng incident. Additionally, summarized basic carried out re-evaluate mechanisms dioxin toxicities experimental models functions aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), known receptor, pathway.
