摘要: Purpose To determine whether the introduction of iCare rebound tonometry in a pediatric ophthalmology clinic resulted fewer examinations under anesthesia to evaluate children with glaucoma. Methods The medical records consecutive glaucoma patients were retrospectively reviewed. numbers (EUAs) and office visits that included measurement intraocular pressure (IOP) compared for three periods relative Icare (Icare Finland Oy, Helsinki, Finland) tonometer into our clinical practice: before device introduction, learning/transition period, routine use. Results A total 87 subjects included: 48 met inclusion criteria first period; 58 third period (some straddled all periods). average patient age was 4.2 years 4.9 ( P = 0.3) period. number EUAs performed 55 after 18 Conclusions use decreased need significantly increased successful IOP clinic.
