摘要: There is a plethora of new silver-containing dressings on the market today. Various manufacturers attempt to show that their are most efficacious and therefore should be preferentially employed by health care workers based results in vitro tests. However, there have been no studies clearly identify which tests appropriate for comparison purposes. The purpose this study was determine test evaluating antimicrobial efficacy dressings. This done testing seven two non-silver-containing topical agents against 17 clinically relevant microorganisms using zone inhibition assays time-kill kinetic complex media. were then correlated whether methods generated similar results. It determined do not correlate at all. likely result silver interacting with media test, thus invalidating test. We conclude data little value when assessing greater use.
