摘要: Abstract Rabbit meniscal fibrochondrocytes were grown in vitro under culture conditions previously shown to foster growth of this cell type. Regardless the regimen employed, cells synthesized sulfated proteoglycans which could be differentiated by their solubility when dialyzed against water. The water soluble (WSPG) monomeric nature and separated into sub-types based on hydrodynamic size analyzed gel-filtration chromatography. insoluble (WIPG) appeared represent hyaluronic acid-dependent aggregates larger two WSPG. contained approximately 87% chondroitin sulfate 5% dermatan sulfate. Keratan not detected. Addition ascorbate medium did change amount or proteoglycan but alter quantity WSPG monomer depending upon used. Thus, these are capable expressing phenotype is short-term monolayer culture.
