Globally scanning for “Megatrends of the Mind”: Potential futures of futures thinking

摘要: This paper focuses on emergent signs of evolutionary change in human thinking that run parallel with many the exponential changes manifesting external world. Weak signals are identified from early 20th century indicating emergence new knowledge patterns. These have strengthened last 40 years. The first identifies ways within several disciplines such as science, philosophy, religion and education. New patterns then discourses traverse disciplinary boundaries through transdisciplinary approaches futures studies planetary/global studies. discusses evolution consciousness, identifying research theorises being related to individual psychological development and/or socio-cultural evolution. Finally, concepts discussed attempt meta-cohere via terms postformal, integral planetary. Notably, academic “futures thinking,” “evolution consciousness” “global mindset change” has been, until now, largely ignored by mainstream discourse evolution, consciousness
