摘要: Abstract Developmental regulation of crystallin protein synthesis was observed in rat lenses between embryonic day 19 and postnatal 21. Studies on incubated [35S]-methionine lens messenger RNAs translated a reticulocyte lysate showed that several new polypeptides were synthesized the beginning approximately 1 week after birth. One polypeptide which had molecular weight 27 000 comigrated with beta crystallins SDS-PAGE became predominant component older lenses. By crossed rocket immunoelectrophoresis isoelectric focusing, native one gamma detected only lens. Many proteins did not change during time period studied. These data suggest differential development. It appears undergoes transition from to adult expression first weeks Factors such as maturation retina may be necessary for this transition.
