Muscle strength and body composition as determinants of blood pressure in young men

摘要: The correlations of blood pressure to various indices muscularity and fatness were studied in 183 young healthy men (mean age 19.7, SD 2.1 years). Systolic showed significant positive with body fat percentage, isometric strength trunk extensors, mass index, lean mass, leg heart rate, the sum four skinfolds. Diastolic had skinfolds, age. A stepwise selective multiple regression analysis for systolic resulted significantly correlating variables: percentage (p<0.001), rate (p<0.01), (p< 0.05), extensors per kg weight (p<0.05). For diastolic two explaining index (p<0.001) In a equation 13 variables flexors was negatively correlated pressure. It is concluded that both are factors related men. effect more clearly associated extensor strength.
