摘要: If a soccer coach wants his team to execute several new and exacting plays for next week’s championship game, the science of chronobiology suggests that best time introduce is 3 in afternoon. In fact, almost everyone can expect better athletic performance if workouts qualifying events are held between 12 noon 2100 hours (Winget et al. 1985). This expectation based on fact many physiological determinants physical performance, from activity metabolic pathways creation cognitive thought, vary course 24 h (see Table 1). The quantitative study biological phenomena fluctuate over (i.e., chronobiology) has helped define identify times when sum these mechanisms should be functioning optimally. Recommendations findings (and discussed this chapter) hold wide implications space flight, agriculture, military training, teaching, business, medicine, psychiatry other fields besides competitive athletics which require “peak” mental performance. chapter will also review impact abnormal or desynchronized rhythms outline countermeasures deal with possible decrements.
