摘要: The prevalence of cigarette smoking among adult gay males is higher than that heterosexuals. There a need for interventions adapted to culture. We conducted pilot study using modified version British intervention programme tailored men in Switzerland. As the main outcome, we assessed point abstinence six months following attendance. Seventy smokers attended seven weekly sessions groups (median size = 5) taught by facilitators. A quit day was set session 3. Integral components were: discussing nicotine replacement therapy, performing carbon monoxide tests and forming ‘quit teams’. Seven-day abstinence, mental physical health frequency alcohol drug use were at baseline, 7 six-month follow-up. Point significantly increased throughout (p = .00). At months, 20 participants (28.6%) reported over previous 7 days. observed increases participants’ between baseline follow-up Participants who dropped out during or lost smoked more cigarettes dependent retained duration (p ≤ .05). This cessation produced rates similar non-gay groups. presented an opportunity interact with other non-smokers. Our results confirm test this systematically view toward implementing it on larger scale Current Controlled Trials ISRCTN36851118 (02 October 2013).
