摘要: Abstract The pericardium is an anistropic composite material made up of collagen and elastin fibres embedded in amorphous matrix mainly composed proteoglycan hyaluronan. are arranged layers, with different directions alignment each layer, giving rise to interesting mechanical properties pericardium, including the ability undergo large deformation during performance regular physiological functions. present study aims investigate effect penetrating photon ionising radiation on bovine tissue, being part a cardiac doses received breast radiotherapy possibility that this can give cardiovascular complications. Irradiation range 5–80 Gy were used. To characterise various [elastic modulus, stress relaxation, ultimate tensile strength (UTS) fracture] uniaxial test method was applied. preliminary results reflect wide inter-sample variations expected dealing tissues, only weak indication increase UTS tissue dose. Such has also been observed by others, reduction at 80 Gy.
