摘要: Noroviruses are the most common cause of gastroenteritis outbreaks in long-term care facility (LTCFs). This review summarizes up-to-date knowledge on norovirus infection LTCFs with aim identifying potential strategies for management. LTCF residents at greater risk infection. Early identification and prompt initiation appropriate supportive therapy required to reduce morbidity mortality. Measures prevent include timely diagnosis implementation control interventions limit virus transmission. Current guidelines prevention based generic principles control. Real-time reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction assays have been gold standard rapid sensitive detection noroviruses. With recent breakthroughs human vitro culture, doors now opened evaluate efficacy environmental disinfectants hand hygiene options. Additionally, development licensed vaccines against noroviruses may provide another important tool among high-risk individuals.
