摘要: Previous findings have supported to the ethnopharmacological use of Anacardium occidentale Linn. in folk medicine. In this study, toxicity properties and hypocholesterolemic effect aqueous extract were evaluated hypercholesterolemic induced rabbits. Thirty Five male New Zealand White Rabbits randomly assigned into five groups fed with normal diet (NC), 0.5% high cholesterol (PC), diet+10 mg/kg simvastatin (SC), diet+100 AOE (AOE100) diet+200 (AOE200). The study duration was set for 12 weeks. vitro has been performed using brine shrimp lethality test MTT assay determine LC50 IC50 values respectively while vivo Blood samples withdrawn at week 0 12. Supplementation caused elevation TC, LDL TG also significantly rise (p<0.05) level liver enzymes compared control group. For screening, extracts demonstrated very low no value detected. rabbits, able prevent increment enzymes: gammaglutamyl transferase, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase alanine positive Aqueous AO found be not toxic posses hepatoprotective effects hypercholesteromic
