Avalanche Photodiode Arrays Enable Large-Area Measurements of Medium-Energy Electrons

摘要: We demonstrate the performance of a large-area avalanche photodiode array as medium-energy electron detector. This is composed eight pixels with 1.2 cm2 total active area. The energy resolution (DeltaE/E) low 4.5% in full width at half maximum for 25-keV electrons, and linearity excellent. Monte Carlo modeling by Geant4 shows that detection efficiency this device appropriate electrons ranging from 200 keV. new can be coupled magnetic deflectors, electrostatic analyzers, other physics instruments requiring position-sensitive or solutions range.
