摘要: Abstract With two electron beam sources, we have tested new Hamamatsu [Hamamatsu Photonics K.K., Shizuoka, Japan 〈 http://www.hamamatsu.com/ 〉 ] avalanche photodiodes (APDs) of spl 3988 and 6098 to detect beams up 100 keV. Though our previous results showed the effectiveness advantage an APD measure 2–40 keV electrons, its upper limit was not high enough so-called medium-energy electrons. In addition limitation detectable range, response at different energies also linear. These newly developed APDs, which thicker depletion-layers, provide full coverage this missing range along with a good linearity. The depletion-layer thickness increased 140 μ m for both dead-layer became 10 times than that 6098. thin-surface thick allows detection electrons from 3 keV 100 keV linearity excellent energy resolution 4 keV 100-keV wide dynamic those APDs will increase their appeal in detecting space plasma research.
