摘要: The effect of maternal copper (Cu) deficiency on various proteins was studied to determine if the changes were reversible or persistent with Cu repletion. functional consequences these alterations assessed by exposing animals an oxidative stress (endotoxin), and measuring formation benzo[a]pyrene-DNA adducts in vitro. Throughout gestation lactation, mice fed a Control diet (10 micrograms Cu/g diet) Low (1 microgram diet). On day 18, offspring killed switched 42 following single injection saline endotoxin 41. In day-18 offspring, resulted decreased hematocrit values, ceruloplasmin activity, liver tissue levels, metallothionein concentrations. repletion restored all but levels. Early led higher brain CuZn superoxide dismutase activity 42, levels thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) endotoxin-treated mice. Liver TBARS lower day-42 treated than age-matched Controls. Cytochrome P-450 concentrations Cu, males These results show that deficiency-mediated during early development are not immediately reversed
