摘要: Parenteral lipid emulsions, which are made of oils from plant and fish sources, contain different types tocopherols tocotrienols (vitamin E homologs). The amount vitamin homologs in various emulsions vary considerably not completely known. objective this analysis was to develop a quantitative method determine levels all emulsions. An HPLC system used measure using Pinnacle DB Silica normal phase column an isocratic, n-hexane:1,4 dioxane (98:2) mobile phase. optimized protocol report homolog concentrations soybean oil-based (Intralipid®, Ivelip®, Lipofundin® N, Liposyn® III, II), medium- long-chain fatty acid-based (Lipofundin®, MCT Structolipid®), olive (ClinOleic®), (Omegaven®) mixture these oils-based (SMOFlipid®, Lipidem®) commercial parenteral Total content varied greatly between ranging 57.9 383.9 µg/mL. Tocopherols (α, β, γ, δ) were the predominant for with tocotrienol < 0.3%. In except γ-tocopherol, ranged 57–156 ClinOleic® predominantly contained α-tocopherol (32 µg/mL), whereas Omegaven® higher than most other (230 µg/mL). Practical applications The information on quantity will be extremely useful physicians healthcare personnel selecting appropriate that exclusively patients inadequate gastrointestinal function, including hospitalized critically ill patients. Some may require supplementation order meet minimal human requirements.
