摘要: This study examines the connection between built environment, perceived safety from crime and walking behaviour by conducting a travel survey in King County, Washington State, U.S. employing two-stage least squares model. We seek to answer two research questions: how does environment affect behaviour; one’s perception of his/her behaviour. Our results show that is not only significantly related behaviour, as previous has identified, but also correlated with people’s safety. In addition, significant association found, revealing possible indirect impacts on walking. specific, people living neighborhoods good accessibility pedestrian facilities tend perceive their safer while density an opposite impact. Moreover, residents safe high-density areas are more likely walk.
