摘要: To investigate the association of antioxidant nutritional status with risk atopic dermatitis (AD) in young children a case–control, population-based study. Identified from preschools by using Korean version International Study Asthma and Allergies Childhood (ISAAC). Final analysis included 180 AD (mean age 5.3±0.9 years) 242 non-AD 5.2±1.0 children. Diet was assessed validated semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Fasting blood samples were used for analyses fat-soluble vitamins (retinol, α-tocopherol, β-carotene) vitamin C. associated negatively intakes antioxidant-related nutrients. The adjusted odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence interval (95% CI) 0.44 (0.22–0.88) highest (vs lowest) quintile β-carotene. A similar observed dietary E (OR=0.33, CI=0.16–0.67), folic acid (OR=0.37, CI=0.18–0.73), iron (OR=0.39, CI=0.19–0.79). Reduced found 1 s.d. increase serum α-tocopherol [OR=0.64, CI=0.41–0.98) retinol (OR=0.74, CI=0.58–0.96) concentrations, marginally that β-carotene levels (P=0.0749 trend). There no relationship plasma C as well nutrient supplement intake regardless type. predicted better measure than corresponding biomarker regarding These findings suggest higher reduces such risk-reduction effects depend on
