摘要: The present paper deals with the assessment of hydrogeochemical processes controlling groundwater quality in Lucknow urban area located an alluvial plain Ganga-Gomti interfluve, India. Physico-chemical data were derived from 42 samples, and further used to map human health risk monitoring area. analysis reveals that carbonate silicate weathering along reverse ion exchange, cation sulphide oxidation, dissociation residual halides are major solute ionic concentration Lucknow. Groundwater is predominantly Na+-Ca2+-HCO3 − type having all cations anions within prescribed WHO limits except for Fe2+ NO3 −. Ionic concentrations combined derive a Water Quality Index (WQI) using spatial overlay Geographic Information Systems (GIS). WQI about 47.8% total 133.52 km2 covering Cis-Gomti localities city has nearly poor water drinking use which possibly due high influx shallow unconfined aquifers. integrated population density index distribution consumption quality. Results reveal sites around vicinity Alambagh, Kaiserbagh Hazratganj, 9.81% area, potential ‘hot spot’ at moderate risk, require substantial remediation measures control anthropogenic on long-term basis.
