摘要: Abstract The main cause of cancer treatment failure is the invasion normal tissues by cells that have migrated from a primary tumor. An important obstacle to understanding has been inability acquire detailed, direct observations process over time in living system. Intravital imaging, and rodent dorsal skinfold window chamber particular, were developed several decades ago address this need. However, it just recently, with advent sophisticated new imaging systems such as confocal multiphoton microscopy together development wide range fluorescent cellular intracellular markers, intravital methods acquired powerful potential for study cell invasion. Moreover, interaction various signaling pathways integrin class surface receptors increasingly shown play key role combination integrin‐knockout models, integrin‐deficient tumor lines, antagonists, allows real‐time observation integrin‐mediated angiogenesis. present review outlines history, uses, recent chamber. introduction labeled into described, tumors angiogenic vessels within chambers using standard brightfield, confocal, discussed detail, along presentation sample images.
